Sports Instructor Summary: One of the major responsibilities is to train and prepare the students for various sports, organize sports events/ competitions, educate students about sports, health and physical development. Has to motivate and build confidence among members of teams to build a positive environment and enhance their performances. Roles and Responsibilities Identify strengths and weaknesses of athletes or teams Plan, develop and implement training and practice sessions Develop, plan and co-ordinate competitive schedules and programs Motivate and prepare athletes or teams for competitive events or games Formulate competitive strategy, develop game plans and direct players during games Analyse and evaluate performance of athletes or teams and modify training programs Monitor and analyse technique and performance and plan for future improvements Officiate at sporting events to maintain standards of play and to ensure that the rules of game and safety regulations are observed Keep scores during events or competitions and keep records Judge the performance of competitors, award points, impose penalties for infractions Skills Knowledgeable about personal training techniques as well as safety techniques and their implementation Knowledge about the physical assessments and how to conduct them High levels of Professionalism Able to work while handling Pressures at times Able to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise Professional attitude and appearance Education and Experience Degree in Sports Science or Physical Education is a must Previous relevant experience shall be an advantage, but not a limiting fact
